I don’t know anything about the developers, except they seem to know what they are doing when it comes to making real, physical amps. They design and produce custom ones, and then model them in software as well. Or maybe …
Brainworx developed the UAD version of the NSEQ-2 and this is their own native version. They seem to be identical in both look and the way they process the audio.
I am impressed by the “knob in a knob” design of the 550 (and others). It saves space, and it also does what is impossible to reproduce on a screen: it utilizes 3-D space. We can move our hand up and down, back and forth, and father and closer. UI designers, take note!
I have never had the chance, but the hardware has a reputation for being unbelievably clean and responsive. And a price tag which backs that up.
